Sights & Sounds: Whak & Mo

Every Tuesday we share an idea from us, a quote from somebody else, and links worth sharing. On Fridays we invite a guest to share images from their camera roll and a sound that resonates with them.

Whak & Mo are twin brothers and artists, born and raised in Nigeria and based in Toronto, Canada. Their practice encompasses a variety of mediums from art, design, fashion and music. Through their modelling work, they often serve as muses to local and international brands and creatives.

Their contribution this week was a little different, splitting both the images and sound(s) in two. Some images are clear, some intentionally pixelated. Both depict where they’re currently at. When going through their selection I found it to be particularly pertinent to this time of the year. The future feels hazy, with some parts that are distorted and some unwaveringly clear. The images served as a reminder to make room for both of these states. To embrace incompletion and illegibility, not forcing ourselves to reach a point of clarity when it isn’t yet time.
