Sights & Sounds: Naomi Accardi
Common Discourse is a project designed to help others (and myself) think through creativity, focus, and intentional work. It hits your inbox every Tuesday + Friday at 9:17am PST.

Naomi Accardi is a creative strategist and writer living in Milan. She’s spent her career working in-house and as a consultant for brands like Nike, Adidas, HYPEBEAST, and other notable streetwear giants. Currently she’s the Marketing Director for Sunnei, one of my favorite fashion designers. Naomi has also served as an Editorial Director for interesting projects like Miilkiina and Season. I also recommend subscribing to her newsletter titled Things I Thought About.
Naomi’s bio on Instagram states “Many things all at once” which feels accurate based on the intensity of her digital footprint.
Naomi is just having fun with it. I think so many of us take our jobs so seriously and I find it refreshing to see a level of free-spiritedness in the way she presents herself. Her curiosity can’t be ignored and it’s clear when her hands have been in, on, or around a project that gets released into the world.
We haven’t been connected for long, but she feels like an old friend. Here are some things she sent me this week.

Bobby Caldwell is one of those artists that has produced some of my favorite classics, yet I always tend to forget about. “What You Won’t Do For Love” is one of those songs I play back to back tirelessly for hours, however i go for months, years even, without listening to it.
Recently, the track came up on a random playlist generated just for me by the Spotify algorithm. Since that day, I have been making it a point to listen to it daily. Not more than 2 times in a row, fearing I will once again forget about it after the repetition gets too overwhelming.
I think everybody can benefit from playing this record, if not everyday, at least once a week.
