Sights & Sounds: Mads Hegelund
Common Discourse is a project designed to help others (and ourselves) think through creativity, focus, and intentional work—from Alex Tan & Alice Otieno.
Every Tuesday we share an idea from us, a quote from somebody else, and links worth sharing. On Fridays we invite a guest to share images from their camera roll and a sound that resonates with them.
Mads Hegelund is a former Division 1 and Professional tennis player, now working as a private tennis trainer in Los Angeles. I saw Mads for the first time last year to have the chance to play at this beautiful court, but left feeling as if I had been given much more than a tennis lesson. Mads’ has a Masters degree in Sports Psychology, and it’s something you can really feel on the court. His approach to coaching is equally mental as it is physical, drawing parallels between the game and life itself, leaving you a much better person on and off the court.
Here’s what he sent me this week.
