Sights & Sounds: Juan Duque
Common Discourse is a project designed to help others (and ourselves) think through creativity, focus, and intentional work—from Alex Tan & Alice Otieno.
Every Tuesday we share words from a few ideas, a quote from somebody else, and links worth sharing. On Fridays we invite a guest to share images from their camera roll and a sound that resonates with them. Words from the journal will come at least twice a month.
Juan Duque is a creative director and designer based in Los Angeles, California. His featured works includes projects for Nike, Numero Netherlands and most recently, Vogue Mexico.
Juan and I met last year while working on a couple projects together at MW.S and instantly bonded over melancholic music and introvert memes.
While going his contribution, it became apparent how consistent the theme of time passing, and our relationship with memories, is throughout the Sights & Sounds we receive. It’s interesting to observe how the simple act of scrolling through your camera roll, allows you to see the beauty in moments that we would’ve otherwise passed by as ordinary.
