Sights & Sounds: Arielle Eshel
Common Discourse is a newsletter designed to help others (and ourselves) think through the pursuit of creativity, business, and culture.
Every week, we share a few ideas from us, a quote from somebody else, and links worth sharing. On Fridays we invite a guest to share images from their camera roll and a sound that resonates with them. Occasionally, we’ll write a journal with observations on what’s happening in the world.
Arielle Eshel is a writer and creator of Affection Archives which compiles tasteful recommendations from herself and people she admires, most of which are people working successfully across art and design. Each issue also includes a bulletin of art exhibitions, pop-ups, and events happening in Los Angeles and New York which I find to be very useful.
We met for a coffee before the end of last year and decided that writing can be awfully lonely, but wonderfully rewarding. I’m always surprised at how encouraging it can be to connect with people who experience mutual highs and lows of a creative practice.
Arielle is a fantastic writer and has exceptional taste. Here’s what she sent me this week.
